Our story
Qudra was born out of my own journey that began running around town and at the starting lines of 5Ks, 10Ks, and even half-marathons. I loved running, but I never felt fully comfortable at the races as everyone looked so put together and I was wearing an oversized men's shirt or a women's top 4 sizes too big and it still wasn't quite modest in the right ways.
I struggled to find modest activewear that supported my values and allowed me to participate with confidence.
Even so, I kept showing up, race after race, wishing there were better options not just for me, but for anyone who felt the same.
As I began building Qudra, I realized that modesty was only one part of the story. The more I learned about the clothing industry, the more I understood how deeply the origins of our clothing matter. In all honesty I asked myself:
Are we harming someone else’s environment or livelihood through what we wear?
Are the hands that make our clothes treated with dignity?
Are they exploited through unfair, even inhumane labor?
Will this weigh negatively on my scale?
These questions shaped Qudra’s purpose. We take our responsibility seriously. Our fabrics are thoughtfully and certified sustainably sourced, and we ensure the people who craft our products are paid fair wages and receive the benefits they need to support themselves and their families. We firmly believe clothing should empower and not harm.
Qudra exists to offer modest, sustainable, ethically produced and durable activewear so all of us can move through the world with comfort, confidence, and a clear conscience.
